5 Ways to Boost Productivity and Avoid Burnout

In Business, Lifestyle, Mindful Leadership, Online Study

We all aspire to be them. You know, those people who nail the whole notion of being a super productive person. They get stuff done and are super-organised. For some people, these skills come naturally, but for others, it takes a little more practice. So how can you boost productivity but avoid burnout?

1.Set goals

In all aspects of your life, whether it’s at home, work, or study, setting goals will give you a clear direction to work towards your ideal future. Ask yourself, ‘what motivates you’ and ‘where do you see yourself in 5 years’? Setting clear goals will keep you organised, boost productivity and on the right path.  It will help you avoid those moments when you find yourself floundering, wasting time in an unfamiliar space that isn’t helping you arrive at your destination.

2. Make mistakes, but learn from them

Remember that failure is an event, not a person – Zig Ziglar

Why waste time reminiscing about your mistakes and failures when you could be working towards your next win? Dwelling on past errors will only distract you from your end goals and eat up your time. Cut yourself some slack and don’t be so hard on yourself. Be grateful for your successes and for your strengths. Make the mistakes, learn from them, and then move on.

3. Limit distractions

This world of technology we live in presents so many distractions. Your emails, your phone, the television and social media, just to name a few. To boost productivity, work in a space that is free from distractions. Find your ideal working environment, somewhere you can connect to your study or work and avoid unnecessary time wastage.

4. Surround yourself with motivators

We all fall on times when we lack motivation. It’s times like these we need our squad behind us to inspire and motivate us to keep going. These people have your back, they are in your corner when times are tough and they believe in you. We all need a cheer squad.

5. Take time out for yourself

This might sound crazy, but taking time away from your work may actually increase your productivity. We all know the feeling of burnout, when you’re overworked, tired and stressed. When you’re feeling like this, it’s very hard to be productive. However, practicing mindfulness, recharging and looking after yourself will enable you to maximize your time and harness every working hour and boost productivity.
